A campsite runs the same way everywhere. The paperwork does not.
Pitches, arrivals, a shop, a restaurant, a season that decides your year.

That part is the same in Ticino, Jämtland or anywhere else. What changes is the reporting your authority wants, the tax your municipality levies and the wallet your guests already have on their phone. Grondia runs the first part out of the box, and we work through the second part with you.

The operation, not just the reservations
Most systems sold to campsites are booking engines with a front desk bolted on. A campsite is not a hotel with grass: on a busy Saturday it is a reception, a retail shop, a restaurant and a hire desk running at once, and every one of them touches the same guest.
Grondia holds all of it on one record. Guests book on a live pitch map that cannot be overbooked, with seasonal rates and deposits, and cancellations that manage themselves against your policy. The front desk, housekeeping and site operations work from the same screen. Anything sold on site (firewood, a coffee, a paddleboard hire, a restaurant round) posts straight onto the guest’s folio, so it is settled once at check-out instead of chased in three places.
The point of sale keeps selling when the connection drops in a field and syncs when it comes back. That is not a niche detail on a site where the shop is four hundred metres from the router.
Guests arrive already checked in
The guest portal runs the arrival before the arrival. A guest completes check-in on their own phone, carries a digital guest card, and settles what they owe (including local visitor charges where they apply) without queuing at a desk that is trying to serve four people at once.
The portal ships in German, French, Italian and English, so a guest is not fighting a form in a language they do not read. For an operator, the practical effect is that the busiest ninety minutes of the week stop being the bottleneck that defines the guest’s first impression.
Paid in the way your guests actually pay
Card payments work everywhere, and where a country has a wallet that everybody genuinely uses, Grondia can lock checkout to it: Swish in Sweden, Vipps in Norway, MobilePay in Denmark and Finland, contactless and the SEPA invoice in Switzerland. Each of those runs through a payment provider and has to be enabled on your account: it is a setup step, not a switch we flip on your behalf.
What is constant is the accounting behind it. A payment lands matched to the right folio rather than arriving as an unexplained transfer you reconcile by hand at month end. And Grondia takes no commission on a booking, on any plan: what the guest pays you is what you keep, minus your own payment fees.
Your website is part of the product
A booking engine that lives behind a redirect to a third-party domain loses people at exactly the wrong moment. Grondia ships the site itself (designed, hosted, domain and certificate included) with the booking widget embedded in it, so a visitor goes from photographs to a held pitch without ever leaving your name.
That matters most for operators whose bookings currently arrive through a portal that charges for the privilege. Every booking that starts on your own site is one you did not pay a commission to receive.
Where your data lives, and what happens to local obligations
Databases, backups and file storage sit in ISO 27001-certified data centres in Switzerland. Traffic runs over TLS 1.3, data is encrypted at rest with AES-256, access is role-based so reception and finance see different things, and every access to guest data is logged. That is the same infrastructure for every operator, wherever the site is.
On local obligations we would rather be plain than impressive. Guest-night statistics, visitor charges and cash-register rules differ in every jurisdiction, and the honest position is that the check-in record already holds the facts those returns are built from, that we produce structured exports from it, and that what a specific authority requires of you is a conversation we have before you go live, not a badge we claim on a web page. Tell us where you are and we will tell you plainly what we run today and what we would need to build.
Frequently asked questions
Do you work with campsites outside your named markets?
Yes, that is what this page is for. The platform is not built around one country’s rules, and the parts that differ are the parts we go through with you before go-live. Tell us where your site is and what your authority asks of you, and we will give you a straight answer about what runs today.
What about my country’s cash-register or receipt rules?
Ask us. Those rules vary widely and some of them require a signing device or a registration we would have to provision for your market. We would rather tell you exactly where that stands against your go-live date than let you find out afterwards.
Which currencies and payment methods are supported?
Card payments work everywhere. Where a country has a dominant local wallet (Swish, Vipps, MobilePay, contactless), checkout can be locked to it, provided the method is enabled on your payment account. Invoices and folios are held in your site’s own currency.
What does it cost?
Where we have published a rate card, the pricing page shows it as soon as you switch to that market. For a market we have not published one for, this one included, we quote against your site: number of pitches, which modules you need, what has to be migrated. There is no per-booking commission on any plan, and plans carry a 12-month minimum term with a one-time onboarding fee.
Can you run several sites from one account?
Yes. The Multi-Site tier is built for groups, resort chains and associations managing more than one location, with consolidated reporting across them rather than a separate login per site.
