If you want your campsite in a browser, not on a PC at reception.
EASYCAMP is an established Austrian system with a long track record and a deep installed base — that is not nothing, and we will not pretend it is. Grondia is a newer, browser-based platform built around Swiss reporting and Swiss payment rails. Here is what each vendor publishes, side by side.
Who EASYCAMP is for
EASYCAMP is an Austrian product from agila.group. The vendor describes itself as a "Branchenführer" with more than 30 years serving campsite management in Austria, Germany and Switzerland, and customers across Europe. Its site presents a modular product: EASYCAMP as the base, EASYBUCHEN for booking, EASYWEBAPP for mobile and EASYREZEPTION for self check-in, alongside gate control, long-term camper handling and remote power metering.
Three decades in one industry buys something you cannot shortcut: the awkward cases are handled, the interfaces exist, and the people answering the phone have seen your problem before. If your site runs on EASYCAMP today and it works, "modern" on its own is not a reason to move.
The reasons that do hold up are specific: you want reception, phone and office working from the same live system without installing anything; you want the Swiss returns generated instead of assembled; or you want your website and booking engine to be the same thing as your PMS. Those are the grounds this comparison is drawn on — not maturity, where we would lose.
Side by side
| Capability | Grondia | EASYCAMP |
|---|---|---|
| Deployment | Browser-based. Reception, phone and office work from the same live system; nothing to install. | Not publicly documented on the vendor’s site — worth asking them directly. |
| Track record | Newer product, Swiss campsites in production — see our customer stories and call one. | The vendor states more than 30 years in campsite management across AT, DE and CH. |
| Product shape | One platform — booking, PMS, POS, billing, guest portal, compliance and website on one guest record. | Modular, per the vendor: EASYCAMP (base), EASYBUCHEN (booking), EASYWEBAPP (mobile), EASYREZEPTION (self check-in). |
| Self check-in | Yes — guest portal with online check-in. | Yes — EASYREZEPTION, per the vendor. |
| Access control & metering | Smart locks, Salto access control, number-plate barriers and guest WiFi tied to the booking. | Gate control and remote power metering, per the vendor. |
| Hosting & data residency | Swiss data centres only — databases, backups and files. CampOne GmbH is domiciled in Herrliberg and operates under Swiss law and the revised Federal Act on Data Protection (nFADP/revDSG). | Not publicly documented |
| Swiss reporting (HESTA, Kurtaxe, Meldeschein) | Built in — HESTA, Kurtaxe and the Meldeschein are generated from the guest data captured at booking and check-in. | Not publicly documented |
| German / Austrian fiscal requirements | Part of our DACH rollout, not a shipped claim we will make on a web page — ask us for the current status against your go-live date before you commit. | Not publicly documented |
| Your website | Included in every subscription — a designed, hosted website with the booking engine built in. | Not publicly documented |
| Interface languages | German, French, Italian and English. | Not publicly documented |
| Published pricing | Published on our pricing page — from CHF 150 per month billed yearly, plus a one-time onboarding fee. | No rate card on the vendor’s site. |
“Not publicly documented” means we found no statement about it on the vendor’s public pages. It does not mean the capability is absent — if it matters to you, ask them directly.
Everything stated about EASYCAMP comes from the vendor’s own public pages, checked on 17 July 2026; their own claims are attributed as such. Everything stated about Grondia is what we publish elsewhere on this site. Websites change — check both for yourself before you decide.
What Grondia is built for
It runs in a browser
Reception, the barrier, your phone at the far end of the site and the accountant’s office are all looking at the same live data. Nothing to install, nothing to sync, no "the PC at reception is the real one".
Swiss hosting and Swiss jurisdiction
Databases, backups and files live in Swiss data centres, and CampOne GmbH operates under Swiss law and the revised Federal Act on Data Protection.
HESTA and Kurtaxe come out the other end
The guest data captured at booking and check-in produces the return. There is no second dataset to reconcile at month end.
Four languages out of the box
German, French, Italian and English — for staff and for guests.
The price is published, and so is the timeline
From CHF 150 per month billed yearly plus a one-time onboarding fee, and operators are typically live in about two weeks with migration and training included.
Moving to Grondia
The awkward part of leaving a long-established system is usually the history, not the software. We plan for that rather than around it.
1. Get your data out
Bookings, guest records and rates, in whatever format your current system can produce. Ask your vendor what exports exist — it is a reasonable question and the answer tells you something either way.
2. Decide what actually comes across
Forward bookings, guest records and pricing are the core. Long-term camper contracts, meter readings and years of history need a decision rather than an assumption — we will tell you what is realistic instead of promising everything.
3. We configure, you verify, we train
We set up inventory, seasons, tourist tax and payment rails; you check it against your own records; your team gets trained. Typically about two weeks, covered by the one-time onboarding fee.
Common questions
- Is EASYCAMP desktop software or cloud software?
- We are not going to answer that for them. Their public site does not spell out the deployment model, and guessing about a competitor’s architecture is how you end up wrong in public. Ask them directly — and ask specifically whether reception, a phone in the field and the office can all work in the same system at the same time, which is what usually matters in practice. Grondia is browser-based, with nothing to install.
- EASYCAMP has been around 30 years. Why would we move to something newer?
- Longevity is a real advantage and we are not going to argue it away. Move only if you have a specific reason: you want everything in a browser, you want the Swiss returns generated rather than assembled, you want your website and booking engine to be the same system, or you want to know the price before the sales call. If none of those apply, staying put is a legitimate answer.
- Does EASYCAMP handle TSE, DATEV or the Meldeschein?
- Their public pages do not document it, and absence from a marketing site is not evidence a feature is missing — ask them. For Grondia, the Swiss requirements (HESTA, Kurtaxe, Meldeschein) are built in; German and Austrian fiscal requirements are part of our DACH rollout, and we will tell you exactly where they stand rather than putting a claim on a web page.
- We are an Austrian site. Can we use Grondia today?
- Talk to us before you plan around it. The interface is German and the platform is DACH-first, but Switzerland is the market whose statutory work is finished in the product. For an Austrian site the honest conversation is about your go-live date versus our rollout — we would rather have that conversation now than have you discover it in month three.
Ask us the awkward questions
Where is the data, what happens to our 30 years of history, and what does it cost. Book 30 minutes and we will answer all three without a slide deck.
