CloudCamping alternative

CloudCamping has shut down. Your campsite has not.

CloudCamping announced on its own homepage that the product would be discontinued on 28 February 2026. That date has passed. If your site ran on it, you need somewhere to take bookings, invoice guests and file your returns — before the season decides for you. Grondia is a cloud platform for campsites, hosted in Switzerland, and migration is part of onboarding.

What CloudCamping was

CloudCamping was a German-language cloud system for campsites in Germany, Austria and Germany. Its public site described multi-site management, online booking and payments, automated invoicing and refunds, group bookings, long-term campers, site mapping, a point of sale, utility-cost tracking and AI translation into ten languages. It did not publish a rate card; it advertised a free trial.

On 28 February 2026 the product was discontinued — the company put the date on its own homepage. We are not going to speculate about why, and we would rather not pretend to be pleased about it: a cloud PMS leaving the DACH market is bad for operators, who now have to move mid-cycle. What we can do is be straight about where you can go and what moving actually involves.

If you are reading this, you are probably past the "should we switch" question and onto "what do we do with eleven months of bookings". The rest of this page is written for that.

“Not publicly documented” means we found no statement about it on the vendor’s public pages. It does not mean the capability is absent — if it matters to you, ask them directly.

Everything stated about CloudCamping comes from the vendor’s own public pages, checked on 17 July 2026; their own claims are attributed as such. Everything stated about Grondia is what we publish elsewhere on this site. Websites change — check both for yourself before you decide.

Our side of it

What Grondia is built for

01

Your guests’ data stays in Switzerland

Grondia runs exclusively in Swiss data centres — databases, backups, files. CampOne GmbH is a Swiss company under Swiss jurisdiction and the revised Federal Act on Data Protection. Not a badge: a jurisdiction.

02

The Swiss returns assemble themselves

guest-night statistics, Kurtaxe and the Meldeschein come out of the guest data you already capture at booking and check-in. No second dataset, no end-of-month re-tallying.

03

We move your data, and we say what that costs

Bookings, guest records and pricing come across as part of onboarding, alongside configuration and training. The one-time onboarding fee is on the pricing page, per plan.

04

The price is on the website

From € 150 per month billed yearly, plus that one-time onboarding fee. You can work out roughly what Grondia costs you without booking a call first.

05

One platform, not a shopping list

Booking engine, property management, point of sale, billing, guest portal, compliance and your website — one guest, one bill, one calendar. Your website is included in every subscription.

How we protect data
Switching

Moving off CloudCamping

We do not publish a CloudCamping-specific importer, and we are not going to imply one. Migration is done as part of onboarding, from the records you can still produce. Here is the honest shape of it.

1. Gather whatever you have

Exports, spreadsheets, backups, PDFs, a printed pitch plan — anything holding your bookings, guest records and rates. If CloudCamping’s export is no longer reachable, we work from what you can produce. Send it over and we will tell you plainly what can be brought across and what cannot.

2. We map and load it

We map your pitches, rate structure, guests and forward bookings into Grondia and configure the site — inventory, prices, seasons, tourist tax, payment rails. This is covered by the one-time onboarding fee shown on the pricing page.

3. You check it against your own records

Before go-live you review the calendar and the guest list against your own records. Discrepancies get fixed while the old data is still fresh, not in July.

4. Go live, with training

Onboarding includes training for your team. Operators are typically taking real reservations about two weeks after starting.

FAQ

Common questions

When exactly did CloudCamping shut down?
CloudCamping announced on its own homepage that the product would be discontinued on 28 February 2026. That date has now passed. We are only repeating the vendor’s public announcement — we have no inside knowledge of their decision and will not speculate about it.
Can Grondia import my CloudCamping data directly?
We do not have, and do not advertise, a CloudCamping-specific importer. Migration happens as part of onboarding, from the exports and records you can supply — bookings, guest records, rates. Send us what you still have access to and we will tell you honestly what we can bring across.
How quickly can we be taking bookings again?
Onboarding typically takes about two weeks, covering data migration, configuration and training — the same timeline we publish for every operator. If you are mid-season and need to move faster, say so when you contact us and we will tell you what is realistic rather than what sounds good.
We are in Germany or Austria. Does Grondia work for us?
Grondia is DACH-first and the interface is German, but be aware of the honest state of play: the Swiss requirements (guest-night statistics, Kurtaxe, Meldeschein, SEPA invoice, Girocard) are built in today, while the German and Austrian fiscal and reporting rollout is in progress. Tell us your country and your go-live date and we will tell you exactly what is ready for you — before you sign anything, not after.
What did CloudCamping cost, and what does Grondia cost?
CloudCamping did not publish a rate card; its site advertised a free trial, so we cannot tell you what you were paying. Grondia publishes its pricing: plans start at € 150 per month billed yearly, plus a one-time onboarding fee that covers migration, configuration and training. The full breakdown is on our pricing page.
Why should we trust a smaller vendor after this?
A fair question, and the honest answer is that no vendor can promise you it will exist forever. What you can check: where your data physically lives, which jurisdiction the company answers to, and whether you can get your data out. Your data is yours, you can export it from the platform at any time (CSV, PDF, ICS), and after a contract ends you keep export access for 90 days. That is in our terms, not just in a sales conversation.
