Guest journey

The guest journey is the full sequence of interactions a guest has with a property, from first discovering it through booking, stay and post-stay follow-up.

The guest journey is the end-to-end path a guest takes with a property, usually described in stages: inspiration and discovery, research and comparison, booking, pre-arrival, arrival and check-in, the on-site stay, check-out, and post-stay follow-up such as reviews and repeat marketing. Mapping it helps an operator see every touchpoint — website, booking engine, confirmation emails, check-in, on-site service, invoicing — as one connected experience rather than isolated steps, and to find the friction points where guests drop off or get frustrated. A smooth, consistent journey lifts conversion, satisfaction and repeat business. For campgrounds, the journey spans channels a hotel guest never meets — pitch selection, arrival by vehicle, tourist-tax registration, on-site shop and restaurant spend — so joining those steps into a single, low-friction experience, ideally in one system, is what makes a stay feel considered rather than stitched together from separate tools.
