Check-in happens before arrival
Self check-in lets each guest fill in and digitally sign their registration ahead of time, from their own phone. The municipal Meldeschein is presented in the municipality’s own format and signed at self-check-in, so the legal record is complete before the car reaches the gate.
Because the details are captured up front, reception is not re-typing passport data at the desk while a line forms behind.
The digital guest card is one QR
After check-in the guest gets a digital guest card: a single QR code that opens the barrier, the pool and the showers, and carries your partner discounts. It works in German, French, Italian and English, matching the guest portal, which ships in all four languages out of the box.
The barrier opens from that QR on the guest’s phone. Grondia does not read licence plates — there is no ANPR — so entry stays tied to a checked-in, registered guest.
Arrival day at reception
For the arrivals that still come to the desk, the live arrivals board shows who is due, and one-tap check-in confirms them without paperwork. Staff spend the time on welcome and site questions instead of forms.
Role-based access means reception sees what reception needs, and the same board serves a self-checked-in guest and a walk-in the same way.
Compliance is captured, not chased
Every online check-in feeds the records you owe. The signed municipal Meldeschein is kept under enforced retention with a tamper-evident audit log, and guest-night statistics overnight statistics are compiled from those same check-ins and filed on schedule with an audit trail.
Where your commune levies a visitor tax, the Visitor Tax Module settles Kurtaxe by guest type with exemptions, caps and period settlement from the same arrival data.
What it costs and what guests see
Self check-in is an add-on, included from the Professional plan up. The guest side is the Grondia guest portal, in DE, FR, IT and EN out of the box, so an international guest completes check-in in their own language.
Everything runs on Swiss hosting: ISO 27001-certified Swiss data centres, nothing replicated abroad, guest data retained per the GDPR and every access logged.
