The QR-bill is Switzerland’s standardised invoice format with a scannable Swiss QR Code, and TWINT is the country’s dominant mobile payment app.
The QR-bill is the standard Swiss invoice introduced in 2020 to replace the old payment slip. It carries a Swiss QR Code containing all the payment details (creditor, amount, reference), so a payer can settle it by scanning rather than retyping, and the reference lets the biller reconcile the payment automatically. TWINT is Switzerland’s leading mobile payment app, used for both in-person and online payments and linked directly to Swiss bank accounts; it is often paid by scanning a QR code as well. Together they are how a large share of Swiss business-to-consumer payments now move. For a Swiss campground, supporting QR-bill and TWINT is close to essential: guests expect to pay by scanning, deposits and balances can be collected quickly, and automatic reconciliation of the QR reference removes a lot of manual bookkeeping around who has paid what.
